Linda Tucker, South Africa. Keynote Speaker and CEO The Global White Lion Protection Trust

Exclusive from Linda Tucker

The Significance of Saving the White Lions in our Times

After being rescued by a Tsonga medicine woman from a life-threatening encounter with a pride of lions in 1991, Linda Tucker gave up a career in international fashion and marketing to become a conservationist. Since that time, she has dedicated her life to the urgent protection of the critically endangered White Lions, regarded as preeminent cultural icons by African elders: “The King of Kings”.

The White Lions are the most charismatic animal on earth - yet, tragically, the world’s most targeted trophy. Linda has dedicated her life to saving them.

In 2002, she founded the Global White Lion Protection Trust to ensure the survival of the White Lions as a living heritage, and went on to secure vast protected heritage lands for the White Lions in the heart of their ancestral territories. This protected area is situated in the epicentre one of the world’s most important ecosystems - the United Nations-designated Kruger to Canyons Biosphere.

For over two decades, she has promoted a LionHearted Leadership™ model for sustainable living with mutual benefits for People, Land and Lions.

Linda Tucker’s initiatives include the establishment of the StarLion Program, a global eco-educational program for emerging talent in youth leadership, which presented to Nelson Mandela in 2007; and the founding of the White Lion Leadership Academy in 2012, based on a heart-centred training which enables adult leaders from all walks of life to become powerful agents of change.

In 2016, she founded the Linda Tucker Foundation, which continues to support a LionHearted Leadership™ strategy in ecosystems and human systems for protecting our earth.

While her founding charity, The Global White Lion Protection Trust, is a scientifically based leadership organisation with a strong track record at the forefront of conservation, the Linda Tucker Foundation focuses on creating a new leadership in humanity which supports these conservation efforts for the flourishing of our earth.

Linda Tucker continues to campaign for the protection of lions from the notorious “Blood Lions” industry, which is speed-breeding lions in cages to be killed (a gross malpractice known as “Canned Lion Hunting”). She is regularly invited as special guest speaker at international congresses, public events, and TV interviews; she has presented at the South African Parliament and British Parliament, and has been honored with the Woman of Impact Award and Citation by the Governor of Maryland, USA.

Educated in Cambridge University (UK) but initiated by indigenous African lion shamans, her life has been featured in numerous cover stories, with an exclusive interview in Forbes Magazine 2013. You can read this exclusive here. The subject of a full-length documentary for National Geographic, her story has been covered extensively in over thirty international TV programs including ReutersCBS, Animal Planet and NHK Japan and is currently being made into a Hollywood movie.

Linda Tucker lives in the heart of the White Lion Protected Area with her partner, lion ecologist Jason A. Turner, their dedicated team, and the magnificent prides they have rescued and successfully rewilded in a ground-breaking scientific reintroduction project.

Linda Tucker is author of Mystery of the White Lions (2001) and Saving the White Lions (2013), and holds the honorary shamanic title in the great African tradition: Keeper of the White Lions.

In 2017 Linda shared publically for the first time the ancient knowledge, known as The 13 Laws of LionHearted Leadership™,  in an extraordinary publication that takes us right into the heart African lion-shamanism.

The Linda Tucker Foundation operates out of the UK, USA and South Africa. Linda is joined by her partner and our Guest Speaker Jason Turner whom you can read about his dedicated work with the lions here.
